Galina at BMW of Minnetonka was amazing to work with. This was my first BMW purchase and she was so helpful, responsive, and fun. Honestly, this was the first time I can say I had fun buying a car and nearly all of it was done online. We were able to do a custom build of my new vehicle, negotiate a trade for my old vehicle, and sign all the necessary forms online. Gone are the days of spending 8 hours in a car dealership. The day I showed up I was greeted, got a tour of my vehicle with a Genius and was out in an hour. It was a totally new experience for me compared to what I've dealt with the Duluth/Superior area when buying a car. Galina took the time to answer all my questions, scheduled a meeting with a genius the day I arrived to learn all the features of my new BMW, and made the experience so much fun. BMW of Minnetonka provided me the best service I've ever had purchasing a vehicle and I would definitely recommend Galina if you're ever looking at BMW for a vehicle.

Even though the prices are obviously higher than a regular shop, you get a loaner car and great espresso while you wait for the paperwork. They give you a full report on what they did and any potential issues in the future plus a car wash. Since they are a BMW center, all the data gets stored on your key fob and all the electrical systems get automatically updated with the latest service information. They even top up your coolant for free in between service intervals. My service rep Chase has been great and always frankly tells me what’s going on without trying to unnecessarily upsell. You get what you pay for.

Excellent establishment!!! I worked with Amy Mattick and she was fantastic! I contacted BMW to let them know I wanted to look at a specific vehicle and that I had to drive 2 hours to get there. Amy saved the vehicle and had it parked inside for us to look at because it was a rainy day. She went above and beyond and took good care of us. Amy excels at her job and it was a pleasure to work with her. It was a very smooth process and we were in and out of BMW in just a few hours with our new car. Beautiful facility and the biggest indoor showroom I have ever seen!

I just purchased a BMW X5 from the Minnetonka location. I worked with Walker Wilkinson and Lea for the finance. I had a great experience as this was my first bmw purchase. Walker is very transparent and upfront. He does not push you in any way which was nice. He follows up and makes the whole buying a car experience very pleasant.

very disappointed. I’ve Never been reached out to by a dealership to purchase a car, one I want to buy nonetheless, only to have my time wasted and unwillingness to work with me. The dealership was unwilling to sell me the vehicle they reached out to tell me was available? I had to pry information from the new car manager as to how I can secure this vehicle. After being excited about the dealer telling me this car was available I found out they are dealer trading it away... Why would you not sell the vehicle to me a local customer? Absolutely frustrating. New car managers responses were few far between. I could have done without the tease of an opportunity to buy a car thanks for nothing. Worst customer experience.

I just bought a 540i from Josh Smith. Josh is a class act, a wealth of knowledge and a relationship builder vs. pushy sales person. Five stars for Josh. Working with Lea in the F&I office left a lot to be desired which is why I’m leaving four stars. She is standoffish, rude and not a pleasant person to work with. I was within a minute of pulling the plug on the deal and went to Motorwerks from dealing with her. I had to swing by the service department today to top off the coolant. Was in and out in five minutes.

Brought my car in for an oil change. They decided to bring my vehicle through the car wash. Their car wash broke from front license plate holder and bent the plate itself. When I mentioned it to the service advisor I was told: “I didn’t realize you had that type of plate holder or I would have asked you to remove it or not ran it through the car was, those plate holders don’t make it through our car wash, but we are not responsible”. So even tho they acknowledged that they shouldn’t have ran it through the car wash they still refuse to accept responsibility. There are many other shops that due service for our cars. STAY AWAY FROM DEALERSHIPS THAT DONT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY

Best car dealership in town. Service is really good here. We have dealt with Josh Smith multiple times and he had been amazing answering all of our questions. Ask for him if you need a vehicle. There was an auto show last Friday and Saturday (March 13-14) and it was great to have a look at different cars and test drive them.

The most disappointing and unprofessional experience I have ever faced in my entire 56 years. We had agreed on purchasing a BMW 440 I which was listed at $40999, we sent in a written confirmation as well as the requested documents, and was working on arranging for the full payment, all within a span of 1 hour. Then I receive a text at 1:53pm stating that the car is sold. Then at 5:05 pm the same day I get an email notification that the price has increased by $2k to $42,999. Shame on this greedy, unprofessional dealership, would not trust..... Here is the proof of the listing change in the photos.

Went to parts department, ordered a part for my 335. Part doesn’t fit. Don’t know what happened to the receipt, don’t even remember receiving one. Brought the part back, with tags and all the stickers stilled attached. Sorry we cannot take it without a receipt. You can’t look up a receipt with my credit card? No sorry need a receipt. Go to target and try to return something without a receipt I was told. Thanks for ordering the wrong part worth $200. Make sure you save your receipts when buying these parts from here. Bmw being sold asap, never want to return here again.

November 20, 2021 Update We purchased another AWD M4 from Galina and as usual the service was top notch. She and her manager Brent hand held me during the entire order process which took 4 months of solid waiting because of the chip shortage. And it was all worth it. All in all, I can say that this dealership is more about customer relationships than anything else. If you are thinking about purchasing from them, don’t. Just do it and there will be no regrets! Just got a new custom ordered X3. Was about 26 days between when I made the first call to when it was delivered to my house. Worked with Sonny and Alicia and they were great! I did everything via phone, text, email, and on-line; I never left my house through the entire process. The process was extremely easy. The team is great; no pressure like other dealerships. Everyone, including the Genius’ that help explain things are very professional and polite! Just a great experience. This is my first BMW; I wish I had bought one sooner😄. Definitely recommend it to others.

Couldn't perform work correctly per quote! I have a 94 convertible that needed a new drivers side window actuator and door panel reattached. I brought the car in to be looked at and was told the actuator could be replaced and the door panel fixed per quote. I accepted the quote. The actuator was installed and I received a text back that the repair to the door panel was done "as best he could". The door was secured as best as possible . Really? I went to pick up the car and the panel was no better than when I brought it in! They offered to hot glue it and I said no. Had I known the panel could not be fixed, I would NOT have had the actuator replaced. They saw the vehicle and stated it could be fixed. I am now out over $600 for an actuator and the door panel was not fixed per the quote. If you can't fix it - don't quote it! Will never be back and will let others know of my poor experience!

I have visited twice and have had bad experience. First salesperson was rude condescending behavior 2nd Salesperson was great but told me that I am forced to buy the dealer protection package as a premium which is unethical and bad sales practices.

I flew from Miami, FL to BMW of Minnetonka to buy my car from Ryan. Ryan was not a hair less than excellent in absolutely every aspect you could imagine. Very professional young man, very well spoken, extremely helpful, if he didn't know the answer he would get it, he was very responsive and I felt like he cared about my questions and concerns. I made a couple of requests before I picked up the car and he made them all happen including picking me up from the airport. The actual facility is beautiful and I WISH BMW of Minnetonka and Ryan were down here in Miami because I would buy all of my cars from there. 10 out of 10 experience. I also dealt with Lea the finance manager, she was very sweet, professional and patient, they stayed after hours waiting for me since my flight was delayed and she still treated me normal as if they hadn't already closed the doors! Although BMW Corporate was not helpful when faced with supply chain issues affecting the exact build of my vehicle, Ryan and his team were extremely diligent in their communication, even when it wasn't something I wanted to hear. If you not resident of Minnesota state don't waist you time they will not sell you a car , was trying to buy BMW X7 M50I FOR 114000$ AND THEY SAY NO...
We can appreciate that this can be frustrating for non local clients. However, due to limited inventory levels we have made the choice to only sell to clients within the 5 state area. If we sold to all states we would run out of inventory almost overnight and then have no product to service our local and repeat clients with. Chris Sommerfeld from BMW of Minnetonka made my out of state car buying experience comfortable and easy. Chris supplied many detailed walk around videos and photos of the car. A pre purchase inspection was performed thoroughly by the service department with video of the underside of the car with great explanation of condition of vehicle and items in need of attention. The decision to commit to purchase before seeing the car in person was made easier by the BMW of Minnetonka team. The pricing was bellow what others similar cars were priced at. Financing was made easy by the finance manager Lea Schneider with digital signing of all the documents. I started looking for an X7 two months ago and did an inventory search up to 500 miles of the twin cities. I came across BMW of Minnetonka and this dealership seemed to offer a good selection and a competitive pricing. Likewise, they offered fair trade in value for my older vehicle. I was looking at BMW and had stopped by another store down the street prior to reaching out. BMW of Minnetonka had won me over with their prompt response, level of customer service and price. Galina was very helpful, attentive, and informative. When I ask her a question, she answered quickly and sent me the source of the information instead of the typical “oh trust me” type of attitude of a typical sales person. She was very insistent on showing me all of the feature of the new car but out time didn’t allow since we lived 5 hours away. We bought our first vehicle from here today. We live several hours away but choose this dealership based on a great inventory and great reviews. We reached out to Heather Purrington also based on reviews she had received from previous buyers. Heather was excellent to work with. We did the trade and worked the entire deal over the internet and phone calls. Almost all of the paperwork was also done via the internet. When we arrived for delivery the car looked awesome and was inside the building for our inspection. We had just very minor paperwork to finish up and we were on our way. I agree with all the reviews. There are times when I have the best service ever. Then sometimes, I am treated like a non-paying customer; I can't even get a reply email back. I look toward the other BMW dealer, but they are pretty much the same. I often wonder how do they survive, when service is your number one money maker. I guess they must be THAT busy. Seriously disappointed. Will try a 3rd party vendor like Eurotech or something. *edit: Just checked their website, my favorite Service Advisor is no longer on the list. Generally that means mismanagement from the top. Such a shame. At least reply to customer emails.

Jon was my sales point of contact and he helped gather all relevant information for the vehicle as well as providing me with regular updates on it's status. Because it was recently acquired, he personally took pictures and verified its condition for me before anything even appeared online. He also kept me informed on their certification process and the steps they were taking to ensure it passed. Financing was also simple and easy! The entire team at BMW of Minnetonka are amazing! The level of service is second-to-none. We've purchased three vehicles from them and will continue to do so. Chase in the service department provides grade-A service that you cannot find anywhere nowadays. He takes the time to understand the issue you are having, responds efficiently and precisely. He has taken care of every concern of ours throughout the years and provides some amazing loaner vehicles as well. It is very rare to see such luxurious vehicles being given out, a nice added touch. Taking your vehicle in for unknown repairs can be intimidating, rest assured, Chase has your back. He recommends things that are needed today, next week, and next month. He will not lie to you and tell you repairs that can be done next year, needs to be done today. No "salesman" tactics here, just an honest guy that cares about his customers. I recommend him, and BMW of Minnetonka by name to my friends, family and many others. They are the number one BMW dealership in Minnesota for a reason, and it shows. I've taken my vehicle to the other local BMW dealership. With the competition, you'll receive unresponsive sales personal that will not even look at you and a service department that is incompetent to be repairing a toaster, let alone luxurious German vehicles. Came to buy an I8 with cash in hand for a down payment. Associates were friendly and helpful but your receptionist was unpleasant and gave me nasty looks when I said I wanted to browse what what you had in the building. I am not sure if it’s because I’m young and she didn’t take me seriously or what but it turned me off of buying. I’ll be taking my business to another BMW dealer. The service advisor chase is absolutely wonderful to work with. I bought my 2019 bmw 330i xdrive from another dealership and they “resurfaced” the rotors but never put new pads on it. By the looks of how bad the rotors were, they didn’t think they were even resurfaced. Chase was able to get it covered under warranty, as well as some other little items that the dealer I purchased from didn’t fix. One of the things that wasn’t fixed was the cigarette lighter. Normally not a huge deal, but something you’d want fixed in a new car regardless. I went to motorworks to see if they would fix it and they looked at me and tried to charge me $200 saying it was a fuse! I checked the fuse myself it it was good. I went back to Minnetonka bmw to chase and he took care of it getting it fully replaced under warranty. On top of excellent service, everyone is very nice and they have an awesome selection of loaner cars if you end up needing one.

April 2022 - arrived at dealership and spoke to Craig. He had sold me another bmw 335i used 2 years ago, it was a disaster because of mechanical issues but Craig was great so I thought I would give it another shot. The car I went to look was in the 20-30k price range, but did not have the features I was looking for. When Craig showed me the car he has also pulled in a 340i, I loved the look of the car and after talking with Craig and my wife we decided to get the 340i, after looking at the car Craig pointed out that there was some body damage on the trunk lid that he would repair free of charge. I brought the car home and drove I around d for a week and started to notice some mechanical issues, I have wrenched on cars for 15 years, mostly German cars. I noticed the car had a poor center of road feel, warped rotors or bad thrust arm bushings, I also found out from the paperwork that the car came equipped with the performance and sound package, a 4k upgrade that included a carbon fiber lip type trunk spoiler. The spoiler was missing and the the look of the damage made it apparent that someone tole the spoiler. Before I brought it back to get these items looked st (under warranty) I was told to write up a document with details surrounding my concerns, I did that and dropped off the car. I just received a text with a video attached from a tech in the shop. The trunk looked like it had been painted but no spoiler? He showed me the car, said there was absolutely nothing wrong and what I was feeling when I hit the brakes may have been the car downshifting....no, I have had 4 different people drive the car and all of them felt the shaking when applying the brakes, including the passengers riding along. He never addressed the other mechanical concerns I had written down, only a trim piece that was bubbled and inoperable cigarete lighter outlets that wete apparently so gummed up with something that they did not work. And needed to be replaced.. I was afraid of this as this is what I experienced the last time I made a purchase there. I give Craig 5 stars, best sales guy I have ever worked with. Not sure who that tech was that sent me the video but he sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about, especially when he pointed to the rotor and said see the brakes are good, no rust lol. You could take 20 min, pull the rotor off and put it on a lathe to see if it was true and not warped or had material buildup. Now I am going to have to do it even though the car is under warranty. I am planning on getting a second opinion from motorwerks, I will send you guys the inspection report. I am also going to get it inspected at an indy shop that specifically works on German cars. I will take the 3 reports and we can sit down and go over them. I know selling cars is a business and you have to make money but this is the wrong way to do it.

Took my car in to talk about getting some work warranted. And they started throwing really high numbers to alley hoop me to the sales team which who tried to lowball me $2500 because I’m young. But that’s not even the worst part the worst part is when they brought my car back my window was rolled down and all of sudden my Footwell Module went out. And I wouldn’t have thought they did it if my window wasn’t rolled down but this was an obvious stunt to make me come back and spend more money with BMW or sell them a really nice car for cheap. If you own your car I would find a pop shop that you trust because these boys aré scheming

Don't waste your time buying a car here. I went in at 6:45 pm on 1/17/22 to buy a used car that i saw online. They informed me that they closed at 7 pm but their website stated they are open until 8 pm. I asked to see the car and Galina showed me the SUV but it had performance tires and would need snow tires. I said I would buy it if she would get me the costs of the snow tires and she said she would call the next day with the info. We did exchange contact info. I also said I would give a deposit right then but she stated they didnt take deposits but I told her I definitely wanted the car. Well she never called, I waited 5 days never heard from her (I am not going to chase someone to buy their SUV that you cannot even drive in the snow lol). I should probably thank her as I went down the road to Lexus and purchased a brand new vehicle and the whole process there was delightful. BMW of Minnetonka just a huge waste of time. Funny thing is that car is still for sale at BMW but apparently they dont want to make sales.

After visiting the dealership and talking with Josh Smith at Sales, we decided to trade in our Maybach and switch from Mercedes to BMW. While Mercedes seems to be moving away from being the best or nothing, BMW is pushing the frontiers of excellence. The vehicle keeps surprising us. The power is outstanding, the technology impressive. Appearance wise, the vehicle is elegant and sporty. As to BMW of Minnetonka, I had an excellent experience both with Josh at sales and then with Chase at service. The wheel and tire package offered by the dealership was a steal. Comparing BMW of Minnetonka to the two Mercedes dealerships I have worked with in MN, I prefer my experience at BMW. Therefore, based on my experience, I recommend this dealership as a good place to start if you're interested in checking out BMW.

Bought my 2018 BMW Model 430 new at this dealership and LOVE DRIVING AGAIN ! Nobody engineers a car with superb handling, suspension, and steering quite like BMW. Definitely feels and looks like a luxury car. Well worth the cost of $51,000 new. Mpg is a little over 30, even though it has a powerful engine. Super quiet though and NO road noise. Great car for long trips because of the comfortable ride. No more stiffness at rest stops on long trips. Service department is great. Oil changes are only needed every 10,000 miles because BMWs run so clean. Definitely will get another BMW when the time comes for another new car ! It’s a joy to drive, and very safe too !

I realize some do this but I have made new purchases out of state recently and will do business with many more times in the future. However this place just lost it, remember you need us we don’t need you :)
We can appreciate that this can be frustrating for non local clients. However, due to limited inventory levels we have made the choice to only sell to clients within the 5 state area. If we sold to all states we would run out of inventory almost overnight and then have no product to service our local and repeat clients with. We knew we wanted a SUV, it was going to be either Mercedes or BMW. Service at Mercedes was little to non-existent, there was really no desire to sell me the car. At BMW, the experience was extremely different. We met Rick, our client consultant, he was just a pure joy to work with! Very consultative, knowledgeable, patient, and genuine in his service. Bobby was great to work with and answered all the questions I had. This was an out of state purchase, and he went above and beyond sending me detailed pictures and videos of the car. He was able to have their mechanics put the car up on a lift and send me pictures of the underside as well. Lea in finance was also a pleasure to work with, and helped me get through the purchase very quickly and efficiently. Edited review: Purchased a '14 Infiniti Q50 from here. The interior was a tad bit dirty but they reached out to me and made things right. Love the car and would like to thank my salesperson Morgan Moore for helping me and answering all my questions. Only thing that I have an issue with is I purchased the car the second week of April and the car was sold to me with tabs expiring the end of next month but it's inexpensive so can't complain. I used to take my car there and the service is amazingly professional. I decided to order an M240i convertible and made a deal. I signed the paper work through email. They did not ask for any down payment. I was told that the car will be here in 2 to 3 months. I waited for a month or so and followed up the order. After a week, I was told that they were unable to secure an allocation. The general manager contacted me and offered help. I waited for another few weeks and could not get a definitive answer. I am writing this review for those who aim to order special cars through BMW Minnetonka to make them aware of the existing challenges. I would suggest to ask for signed paper works, put down payment and be patient. The general mange, Ric Saatzer and Bobby Wilson are amazingly professional and are willing to help. I enjoyed working with both of them but unfortunately could not get my dream car.
Hi Ardeshir. We are also very frustrated we were not able to get you a M240i convertible as quick as we initially hoped based on production schedules. This is a very low production model that is in high demand. As you and I discussed by phone - due to the pandemic - production in Germany was extremely limited and we worked very hard to get you a production slot. We did not take a deposit or ask for any money from you while we waited for an order confirmation, that's not the way we do business. In early September we discussed that a November production slot with a January delivery would be acceptable to you. While we waited for the allocation you notified us at the end of September that you couldn't wait any longer and that you purchased another vehicle. I reviewed the communication with Bobby and myself and I see we were very responsive to all your communication, unfortunately we are at the mercy of the factory for production. We did ultimately receive the production for your order that would be delivered in January as promised. I am sorry we were not able to get you that confirmation sooner. Under normal circumstances the process is much more predictable and we can deliver on the expected timeline. We do hope you enjoy your new car and that BMW responds to your formal complaint. Dan and Mike you have failed one of your loyal customer under your leadership. Our oil change and every service was performed by your dealership from day one since purchased the car at your dealership. We had over $14k in service cost between warranty and our cost in 4years time. There were multiple repeat issue that resulted additional costs in which I questioned if your team have the level of experience to properly diagnosis the issues. Our last service revealed that we need a new $21k engine at a 103k miles due to timing guide that broke off. This was the timing guide that you replace a few years back by your team. I would think that you would stand behind your work and service. It is not the case as your comment Dan "We cannot guarantee that for every customer that purchase a car with us that one will be in similar situation like you". I can guarantee that this will not be your sales pitch. We feel betrayed that we trusted a service that does not back up their work. It is a disappointment that we cannot continued the relationship. But the two of you made it easy for us to switch side and move on to Richfield Range Rover/Jaguar.

This was an out of state purchase (sight unseen) and all transactions were completed via email and Zoom. Heather Purrington and Kyle Gustafson were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. The entire process took less than 30 minutes. The car was thoroughly cleaned and ready for pickup when I arrived. I came in for a fluid flush and the inspection showed a loose axel and oil leakage from my 2012 528i’s engine. My adviser told me it was unsafe to drive and suggested donation or very expensive repairs. That’s when I met with a pre-owned salesman, John “Sully”Sullivan, who was very helpful and informative. We test drove an X1 that was clean and well-maintained. I left with a newer, reliable car that I can take to my new job soon.

I like to choose the car (after years of leasing many different vehicle makes we have now realized nothing drives like a BMW) get quoted a good price with everything included, go in and be out ASAP. Amy was super amazing, phenomenal, super helpful, very knowledgeable, very kind, personable, and most importantly she was very respectful. I was wildly impressed with the buying experience here, despite the complications Covid put in place. Tommy Rodenwald was my sales representative, and he was great to work with. He was very responsive (I traveled from 2.5 hours away, we started the process online), friendly, helpful, and did a great job listening to what I was looking for and steered me towards the vehicle that best met my needs.
