Used HFS for a pool loan and everyone was great! Doni was our consultant and he was very straightforward and easy to work with. He was also very quick to respond. Andrea was our processor and she was thorough fast as well. The whole process was less than a week and we were fully funded. Shortly after I received a much appreciated call from Adam informing us of disturbing news from the pool builder we had originally chosen. Thankfully we changed builders but the fact that they called and wanted to make sure we weren’t taken advantage of by the builder showed they cared and we weren’t just a transaction. Absolutely a wonderful experience. Excellent portal for loading required documents electronically. Of course with an unsecured loan the rates are a little high. However, I was given the quoted rate from the soft credit check. We have been saving to build our dream backyard and HFS has made it possible. Lon Packer and Jennifer Wagoner assisted us with our home improvement loan and were a phenomenal team to work with. They gathered all info they needed in only a couple of attempts, so there was limited back and forth and they were in contact with us the entire time to make sure we knew where things stood. The information they provided us during our initial consult was consistent with the end terms of our loan. This was not the case with a couple other lenders we spoke with. I highly recommend HFS!

Simple and easy process for obtaining our pool financing. My husband and I have self employment income which can sometimes be a pain to prove, all sorts of documentation are usually required. However, due to our excellent credit, we obtained instant approval with no income verification required. Additionally, funding will be made to our deposit accounts to manage and not left up to a finance company for further approval and distribution to the pool contractors. I highly recommend for any home improvement project that you may want to finance.

All I can say is AMAZING! I HAVE USED THEM TWICE and I have a extremely difficult situation being self-employed and with complex financial issues. They didn't look at me as a computer but as a person and they understood what is needed to get things done. I am far from a cookie-cuter account and they went over and above what was and is expected to get things done and completed. I will use them for this for as long as I am able and I truly appreciate their attention to detail, understanding and knowledge of the business and of business people. Really impressed with the process and results. From start to finish the loan took about 12 days. The quoted rate, origination fee, and terms were exactly what we got when the loan completed. I was very pleased with the whole process. 5 days from application to funds being deposited into my account. Aaron W. and Joanna M. were great to work with. I would definitely reccommend HFS to anyone looking for a home improvement loan.

Turn around was very quick and fast!, First phone called with Eddie he offer me an interest that we agreed on the conversation, two weeks after I was signing the contract and it when up almost 1% what I was told by Eddie in our conversation. Then the only response that I got was "I'm sorry but the interest is not secure until get to the underwriter " How the interest went up in one day after our conversation ? And why I was never communicated about it? If I didn't reed the documents I would never notice that. Wow ! very poor experience I would don't recommend them. The only positive about them, that they work very fast. Do not trust the conversation with Eddie!

Working with HFS has been wonderful. It took a bit more time to process everything because of the documentation required, but everything went smooth. We will definitely work with them in the future for other home improvement needs.

The process was very quick (almost too quick)red flag number one. Great response time and thorough vetting process. However… At no time during this quick response time did anyone mention the $2400 processing fee(which is more than buying a new home) and is typically paid in cash at closing… This company failed to verbally identify something this important. The fee was quietly added to the loan amount and SOLD , to another outfit… This fee was rolled in to the financed amount essentially now having to finance their processing fee. Absolutely unacceptable. The terrible part of this is they were so quick to react and respond back during the process, but now that the loan was purchased by another outfit, HFS, will not return a call, email because we don’t have an acct w them… ITS BEEN SOLD!! The new company was demanding payment 3 weeks earlier than the original loan due date. We had the money for 4 days and Bam!!! Our new loan amount, which was not the loan amount now has a loan processing fee added to it which we did not receive that full amount. Unacceptable…It’s called verbal disclosure which they FAILED MISERABLY TO DO!!! You have a ethical Obligation to properly disclose data, not to hide behind it like a child.

This was super easy to apply Luisa was so helpful along with the gentlemen that I spoke with before Luisa. They answer your questions and get your loan done as quick as possible there is not lag time. I would totally recommend this company to anyone.

Terrible service. I am a returning client and applied to build a pool at my new residence. The representative, John Kuprevich, I was working with was rude and pushy. I applied late Saturday and was presented numbers Sunday morning. Today was an immediate family members funeral and I felt that was more important than responding to John. His response, after telling me I had a few days to decide, was to close my application before speaking to me. Within 12 hours he sent me a text saying my conditional approval was good for a few more days (8:03 am) and then he closed my app and told me to reapply at 7:55pm. Not only 36 hours and he gave up on a loan that was sure to close.

BEWARE!!! First, there is a hidden fee of 3% of the value of the loan that is added to the borrowed amount that is not disclosed up front. Second, they will literally contact you non-stop and use high pressure tactics to get you to make a quick decision. Third, they will send misleading information about a conditional loan being approved, even if you didn't authorize anything with a loan officer. If you need a loan, you are better off going to a bank or other financial institution. For pool loans, I absolutely recommend Lyon Financial above these guys. Run the other direction!

Our loan funded in March to start remodeling, they quickly got back to us, answered all my MANY MANY questions, provided me all explanations requested regarding the loan process. We ended up making some additions to the original project and got funded again, just 3 months later. HFS team has worked efficiently to help our dream house come true, proven ! We dealt with Alan and the whole experience was horrible. First we get a call almost bullying us into getting all the documents uploaded and was very rushed to avoid a higher interest rates. All communication was a one word e-mail with no details of actually answering the e-mail. Once we got the loan documents it was needing a credit union account set up that we were never told about and then we were never given the option to select a payment date. We pulled our loan and went with a way better company.

I really was not excited when I decided to finance a pool versus paying cash. I knew the process was going to be difficult and lengthy. The pool contractor sent me the link to apply. I texted Jay that night to inform him that I applied. He responded right away (10:00PM) and said he would reach out in the morning. And that he did. He assured me the process was simple, broke down the loan terms and made me aware of a couple of items they still needed. I received an email from Jennifer shortly after with login instructions. I uploaded the required documents. She immediately responded and said she had what she needed and the file was in underwriting that same day. That was a Friday and the loan was decisioned on Monday. After approval, I needed to initial and sign a couple of loan docs electronically and voilà, we had the loan. Went very quick and I'll be sure to come back to then as often as I need it. Pretty good rates and products available and something I was very happy to hear: the funds are disturbed to the home owner and not the contractor. Now whether that means you save on not using a 3rd party to hold/disperse funds or not, I'm just glad that contractors with shady track records are not running away with funds and leaving homeowners out to dry. That is a welcome changed for once as the home renovation/upgrade contracting business needs to be regulated!

I have never had such a good experience as I did with HFS. Getting a loan these days is usually excruciating - but not with HFS, specifically John and Luisa. I applied, John reached out to verify some info and they got me approved within hours. Then Luisa took over and got me through underwriting fast and my loan was funded within days. They are responsive and excellent to work with. For anyone looking for a loan, I would recommend HFS first, second and third.

Was told by loan originator that since we had outrageously great credit that we would not need to submit the usual thousands of pages of paperwork which I guess the loan processor did not get the memo since she asked for all that paperwork. Plus the fact that they wanted to know where the balance of the costs of the improvement were coming from since we did not want to borrow the entire cost of the improvements. Kind of invasive if you ask me.

This has been the best financing experience I have ever had! The best! I recently sought to find financing for our new pool that will be installed in April. My pool contractor recommended HFS Financial. Lon and Amanda have been AMAZING through the whole process...application, underwriting, and funding. Everything was completed in about a week. Just got off the phone with one of the agents (Jason) from HSF. He could not have been more ignorant and condescending and I wouldn’t use this loan provider if they offered us a 1% rate. Terrible customer service, cocky, and ignorant. We let our pool company know as well not to refer anyone else here.

After working with two different lenders I was very frustrated. One place promised us 90% loan to value for our second mortgage but in the end, they wouldn't go above 80% so we went to our credit union. They also said they could do our loan and even promised up to 130% loan to value but in the end we were denied because of a charge off from over 5 years ago that we fully disclosed prior to even submitting an application. After feeling defeated, I decided to search the internet for home improvement and pool lenders and HFS Financial was at the top of the list. I sent an instant message through FB and was immediately responded to. I then filled out an application online, was called the next morning and approved within 5 minutes. It's only been 3 days and our loan has been signed and we are expecting our funds withing 24 business day hours. We are so excited. I highly recommend HFS Financial.

We initially were going to use a HELOC through another provider to fund our pool but it was proving far too difficult given the new requirements many have put in place since 2020. My experience with HFS financial, specifically Scott and Trish, was very positive. I requested a loan for home improvement projects and the process was simple and quick. Loan processing, underwriting and funding was completed within ten (10) days of my application. Loan rates were competitive with multiple term options. The only issue I had was being quoted a finance rate and the loan agreement reflecting a higher rate. The payment however, did reflect the original rate quoted. Something I can't explain. Overall, I am satisfied with their service and recommend HFS and their team for your dream projects.

Admittedly, I was skeptical about this loan service for a new pool project. Alan was super nice on the phone, telling me it all looked good, and if my docs showed what I told him, it would be a slam dunk approval. And it was a slam dunk, approved less than 24h of uploading the requested docs - Kim was so responsive to my questions, too. It just sounded too good to be true. It was too easy! I was expecting some sort of glitch, some sort of excuse… and then a few days later the funds were in my account, ahead of schedule, exceeding all of my expectations. HFS Financial was quick to contact me and discuss my project. Once we had decided what was right for me, we were able to complete the paperwork. It was easy to upload required documents and within the same day my package went to underwriting. Once approved the money was deposited in my account and I decided when and how that money was distributed to the vendors. This works great to control the project and own the risks associated with any home improvement project.

We decided to go with HFS for our pool financing as even though the rates are higher for personal loans, the process is much simpler and faster than Home Equity, and we plan to hold the note very short term versus thru maturity. Jay was super prompt in engaging from our application submission and responding to questions. Alexis was very quick to review our documentation and move us into underwriting. Once in underwriting, it was 5 business days before we were approved and we received funding 2 business days later. Yes, there is a fee for their service to connect you to a lender, however we found it worth it simply for how quickly they move and for the service they provide. Highly recommend HFS if a personal loan is the route you are looking for.

Very smooth process! We went from application to funding in 10 days. The terms are very competitive and I love that the money was paid directly to us and WE are in charge of paying the contractor(s) ourselves vs how home improvement loans are typically done. JUST READ THEIR RESPONSE. That's too bad for them. We had zero problem getting a loan elsewhere. Such utter stupidity! Get in the 21st century! They made it sound so simple. Just apply online with no hit to the credit report. Buying an inground pool; thought we'd check out their financing. Put my husband's info in then tried to do mine. Nope, they don't care that you are married and live together. You must have completely different phone numbers to apply. I put his cell on his page and then it wanted a second phone number so I put mine. I did the same on mine in reverse order and it said you cannot use the same phone number for both people. And you cannot use the same email address for both people either. I don't like to use my husband's work email address for personal business nor mine but we use the same personal email address when we need one. Nope, this is not allowable either. I called them, was on hold forever just to ask to confirm this. The line went dead. Called them back; on hold forever again before someone picked up. She confirmed that no they would not consider us for a loan unless we got another phone number and an additional email address. Or, she said, "make one up!" Really??

I decided to use HFS myself for my own projects after seeing how well they served clients of mine. Jay and Trish were super helpful and on top of things. Even through a bit of bumpy approval process with the lender due to recent ownership changes with my home, Trish persevered and never failed to keep me updated. She even took to initiative to correct an underwriting mistake that would have otherwise resulted in a denial. I cannot recommend the HFS team enough, especially Jay and Trish. HFS will always be my first recommendation to friends and clients alike.

No issues. Have already referred HFS to a friend. We did a new pool and full exterior facelift on our house. Process took 19 calendar days from the time i made initial contact until funds were in my account. That includes me taking 2 days gathering all of necessary documents. Jay and Trish were always quick to respond to questions and keep me updated on the progress of the loan. No hesitation on using HFS again. Tip: Have your quotes prior to starting a request and that will speed up your process.

Spoke with Adam and had horrible service. If you ask a question, he will quickly interject a rude uncalled for comment, or try to over speak you with information not even pertaining to the conversation. To top it off, after being rudely interrupted after trying to explain an offer I got for 2.99% interest rate the day I was contacted, he then tells me that the offer should have been taken down weeks ago. Overall, very disappointing, and bad service.

Socorro Reyes and Alan Breecker were great, everything on their end was timely and straight forward; it was the underwriting team that slowed up the loan process, needs work in that department for sure.

We were approved right away which was great, but once we submitted our documents we were accused of sending in a fake MD license so they denied the loan. They blamed their bank for saying the license was fake. They even went as far as I telling us to get a new one from the MVA. I explained numerous times that it was not fake and my husband just received the license from the MVA. I requested a call back from a supervisor which I received and that was from Adam. He was very rude, chewing his lunch in my ear and raising his voice at me. He kept saying I look at Maryland licenses every day and I know it is fake. Well if he did that he would know in the state of maryland for older licenses they had a blue background and when you renew your license in the mail from Maryland they use your old picture with the blue background. Nothing like being accused of fraud from a financial company.

If everything is submitted on a timely manner, the loan process approximately less than two weeks.

Not sure where to start? Phenomenal would be a start... Myself and my husband had been shopping around for a loan for our in ground swimming pool. Our contractor sent us a link to Hearth and the interest rates were for lack of a better word, Insane! It was not looking good for financing or a pool for that matter. Then I came across HFS as I Googled pool loans and the reviews were so positive. I decided to submit an online inquiry. Within the hour Lon Packer reached out to myself and my husband. Side note: Very personable, professional, knowledgeable and a straight shooter which was very refreshing. Of course you have to submit some documentation but once I did that everything was so quick. Can't say enough good things about this company, especially the account team who worked so hard for us to get our loan done...Alan Breecker our loan consultant and Andrea Barchiesi our processing manager. The process was as smooth and easy as can be. I initially filled out the online inquiry with the soft pull on my credit report. Within minutes, I was speaking with Alan discussing my project estimate and amount of funds needed, Alan assuring me he could get my loan funded. Once my application was officially submitted, I had one hard pull on my credit report and an email instructing me how to access my loan portal so I could upload the necessary documents needed for the loan. By the end of the day, Andrea confirmed all my docs were submitted and our loan went into underwriting. A few days later, Andrea reached out to me about an issue I needed to resolve, which delayed the process about a week so I could clear the matter up. Once I had the requested documentation provided, the final approval came a few days later for the full amount I requested with very favorable terms and interest rate. Once I e-signed the loan documents, funds were in my bank account in two days. We could not be happier with our experience with HFS, and would like say thank you again to Alan and Andrea for a job well done!

Jay and Alexis were awesome to work with at HFS. We applied to other places but the one big take away from HFS was that we could pay one portion of a loan off sooner and have a lower monthly payment. Loan process was a bit longer than the other guys but glad we waited as I know I would of kicked myself later. Much better piece of mind in the long run again especially because we can lower our monthly payment later on once we pay off one of the loans sooner. We got a loan for a pool and they split them up just for reference. Again great folks to work with and just plain simple process. Scott called and started our personal loan process. He was very nice and always willing to answer questions. He let me know the process to get approval, they do have a few to help that is applied into the loan, but because of their connections and help in processing the loan it’s only fair! Our loan was then turned over to Luisa. She was very responsive as well and let me know exactly what the bank needed to get us approved. She was so helpful and I have no doubt that without her help the loan wouldn’t have probably been approved. The whole process didn’t take long and funding came just in time to start our renovations. So thankful to them!

I had a great experience with HFS Financial. Jason was incredible since my first inquiry and he was very reassuring. Great customer service and Jason was always responsive. When I went into underwriting, I was told that it would be about 7-10 business days because of all the applications they were receiving . It took about 2 weeks to get final approval which is reasonable. No push backs at all from underwriting and they didn’t request for further information after I submitted all of the required paperwork. They came in clutch, just in time for my swimming pool project.

It's a pretty big loan commitment and he answered all our questions! During submitting of paperwork and the pre/post funding process Nikki went above and beyond with communicating us with updates! She was always available and responded quickly to any questions and followed through on our behalf when things weren't moving as quickly. Once she followed through for us everything was resolved within minutes! This was surprisingly a painless process and I appreciate their professionalism and communication throughout the entire process.

When everything was submitted, he brought in Amanda, what a gem she is. Everything was simple and precise, her instructions were very clear, and she was there if I had any questions. To good to be true! During the process of seeking out financing for my pool project. I did a lot of research and looked into a lot of different companies. After my research it was clear to me that HFS was going to be the company that I utilized to try and seek financing. After reading all the reviews about how fast and efficient the team was, I was quite impressed but was skeptical as well. After the process I must say that these reviews are true and their performance was excellent. I started the process on Monday and my loan was completely funded by the following Wednesday. The team was very upfront with the fees as well as the rate. They moved expeditiously to get everything in place as quickly as possible. The whole process required very little follow up on my part. Alan and Luisa were great throughout the whole process! I would definitely recommend this group to all of my friends for future projects. Adam and the HFS made getting a loan and receiving the funds for our pool very quick and easy. I wished some attention to detail would have been made when describing the process and some details of the loan but beside that quick and easy. The bank on the other hand was a little difficult to work with on setting up payments etc. Overall, would recommend HFS.

***UPDATE***I forwarded my concerns to Jay the following morning. He was quick to find out the status of our loan and found that it was approved. He quickly got it expedited to the closing department so the disclosures could be sent out that day . Once we signed, we received another update that our funds were on it's way and we received them 3 days after signing. Jay apologized for the delay and the extensive process it took for our loan to get closed. Our experience has not been good at all. It started off well with checking our rate and someone responding right away. We were told by our LO, Jay, that the loan process takes 5-6 days and we are going on 3 weeks with still no decision made. Our mortgage process was way easier then the process we are going through right now. No one followed up with us in the process as we had to keep emailing the processor for a status update. Then the processor, Sari, would respond that she needed more information. One of the items she asked for she requested 3 times and I sent the same information to her 3 items and finally even typed it up and uploaded it to the portal so someone would see it. I’ve been a mortgage processor myself and never seen such lack of customer service and communication. The process has been drawn out and we still don’t have any idea whether or not we’re approved. At this point, we’d just like a decision so we can determine if we need to move on to another lender that can assist.

Alan and Andrea are simply the best. One of the best loan experiences I’ve ever had. Very responsive and efficient. My pool loan was financed quickly and no hiccups. Absolutely horrid. I am self-employed and figured they would need more info. The underwriter is asking for documents that do not even apply to my business tax return. An underwriter should know what tax documents apply to each tax return.

WOW! This process was the easiest thing to do! My husband and I submit our preliminary approval request on a Monday and within 1 week we were approved and the funds were deposited. We checked around numerous companies but this was the only one that allowed you to get larger funding so you could do numerous projects all at the same time. The money is in your hands and so you can control when / where it goes to the contractors. We look forward to getting going with our Pool / Landscaping projects and making our home the absolute relaxing dream location.
