I've only dealt with Sam through offerup, and I forget the name of the staff that helped me in person. However, all of them are super helpful, responsive through the app and great to work with in person. I always stop by and check out their inventory of precious metals as the online prices have gone through the roof, and they remain reasonable. Highly recommend this spot

They will work with you whenever you get a little behind on a payment for your items. They give you more than enough time to pay back a loan and even extend your time automatically by sending you a letter and calling you a few times as your due date approaches and passes. Seems like they value and appreciate their customers. BEST experience doing business with a pawnshop. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.👍

Debbie and Bob are the best. I can’t even count how many times they’ve helped me out of a jam or held my items past the due date. My belongings are always cared for and cleaned up upon their return. I’ve had nothing but great experiences at SM J&L.

If i could leave 6 or even ten stars i would . Never have i been to a pawn shop that actually cares about their clients. By the time i got out i had already spent a little 9 racks. I’ve been a long time patron at SMJL and every time its a great pleasant experience with them. They always try to meet you half way if there’s something that they cant do for obvious reasons. Staff is always helpful and friendly and the jewelry they sell is always unique and rare regardless if cheap or expensive is in your budget. Are you I have been coming to Santa Monica jewelry and loan for years. In some of the most dire Financial situations of my life, the team down there on Broadway and 4th in Santa Monica oh, well, they were near to a family for me. A family that had some cash in their pockets to spare. Not even my own uncle has helped me as much as Santa Monica Jewelry and Loan. Also although most of my items have been low ticket, they have all range of items for sale, from analog film cameras, to Inga bars of silver and gold. Truly a wonderful place to find some amazing Treasures. There have even been in a couple of times when I was late on paying my ticket oh, and they could have claimed the item. They literally called me while I was in Mexico, and gave me a chance to extend that item. Unbelievable customer service, you will not find a better place in all of Southern California, let alone Los Angeles. Thanks again for saving my a** on multiple occasions.

I’ve been going here and using their services for almost 7 years. Never once have I had a bad experience with anything. I’m unsure how other pawn shops work, but they give you 4 months to come in a pay the interest on your item. They’ve always given me a call if I missed their mailer and they have worked with me every time if I couldn’t make it in. Seriously, I hold everyone there in the highest regard and you should feel safe bringing your items there. They also have a very nice selection of jewelry and some art. If you get there on the right day you can find some appropriately priced music gear, as well. I know now because of Covid they’re also able to take cc info over the phone if you need to rewrite your items, which was really helpful. Overall, great people. Fair prices. I would take my business there anytime.

I keep doing business here over the years because of their knowledgeable and warm staff, especially Debbie. They really work with you and your situation. They take the time to explain everything about your jewelry and the loan process. And they have a beautiful and unique selection of watches, rings, etc...plus a large collection of guitars. Even their other customers are lovely to meet. One step in the door and I felt this place was in a much better league. There's a reason people keep coming back.
